first annual 4 mile Run 4 Mike’s Kids | september 1, 2008 (labor day)
A 4 mile run/walk that was held at Rockford Park in Wilmington, DE. The first annual 4 mile Run 4 Mike’s Kids was presented on behalf of the Mike Clark Legacy Foundation of The Delaware Community Foundation to raise critical funds to support educational programs for youth throughout Delaware, in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware. The Mike Clark Legacy Foundation honors the memory of Michael D. Clark, a triathlete, runner, horticulturalist, and committed staff member of the Boys & Girls Clubs for nearly 30 years. Those great atheletes that took part in this event were able to proudly proclaim, “IM4 MIKE’S KIDS!”
On September 1, the amazing weather enhanced the excitement that seemed to eminate from everyone involved in the run. This event brought together people of all ages and athletic levels, making it highly successful throughout the Wilmington area. Even though it was the closing day of summer, the Labor Day Run 4 Mike's Kids opened the doors to many other events planned for the future. There were many great times had at this event.

first annual mike clark conquer the hills memorial ride - 2008
Nearly 300 cyclists convened on a picture perfect summer day to honor Mike Clark’s favorite local ride – Conquer the Hills. Started several years ago by Mike Clark and a few of his hardcore friends, the noncompetitive ride was opened to the public for the first time this year… but definitely not the last.
In all, more than $7,500 was raised for the Mike Clark Legacy Foundation at Conquer the Hills, and local bike enthusiasts are already asking for the date for Conquer the Hills 2009.
This event was the first of many to come, and from the photos, we can only hope for something as exciting as this ride.
