press releases
The Mike Clark Legacy Foundation is dedicated to providing its patrons updates on how the money we receive from donations is being spent. Here are some of our most recent grant aquisitions and our upcoming events.
philanthropic foundation awards grant to the mclf
A philanthropic foundation has awarded the MCLF a cash grant of $45,000.00 for 2008, and a matching grant of up to $50,000.00 for calendar year 2009. Now is the time to donate to the MCLF, as your donation will be doubled by this foundation. And it gets even better if your employer offers a matching gift program. Your employer’s match of your donation, combined with the donation of this philanthropic foundation, will generate four dollars for every dollar you donate!
barclays bank awards grant for fast cats program
The MCLF has received a $5,000.00 grant from Barclays Bank to enhance the Fast Cats Program. Volunteers are needed to assist in this program.
MCLF provides $7500 to Fraim mentoring/tutoring program
The Mike Clark Legacy Foundation (MCLF) has joined forces with the Clarence Fraim Boys & Girls Club, the University of Delaware and Connecting Generations to improve, expand and provide financial support for Fraim’s existing mentoring/tutoring program.
The program now supports more than 50 disadvantaged school-aged children. MCLF has provided $7500 in partial funding for a program coordinator provided by Public Allies, an AmeriCorps member, to further expand this partnership and reach even more children.
Mentors/tutors assist young people in their day-to-day decisions, their education and even career planning. Just one hour a week can favorably change the lives of both the mentor and a deserving child. To learn more about mentoring opportunities at Fraim, please contact Program Coordinator Jason Pilar at 302-655-4591, x239 or jpilar@bgclubs.org.
One of the greatest legacies anyone can leave is one’s impact on others. In the spirit of Mike Clark, MCLF encourages you to become a mentor/tutor and/or support the program with a tax-deductible donation. We invite you to visit www.mclf.org for more information on donating to MCLF.
